More than just a golf estate

Thorny Bush Estate incorporates the existing Kameeldoring Country Club, one of the top golf courses in Limpopo, set in a magnificent bushveld environment with free roaming game.

 

In addition to the fantastic golf course and recreational facilities at the club house, including two squash courts, Thorny Bush Estate is within walking distance of the town's sports clubs including soccer, rugby, tennis and bowls. The Estate also forms part of a wildlife conservancy of over 300ha that is owned by Anglo Platinum, to which residents will have full access for walking, mountain biking and fishing in the Nyl River. At Thorny Bush Estate there simply is no reason for any member of the family to have nothing to do.

 

The town centre of Mokopane is a few minutes drive away and provides restaurants, comprehensive shopping facilities, schooling, doctors and medical facilities.

 

18 hole Golf Course

Thorny Bush Estate incorporates the existing Kameeldoring Country Club, which is an 18 hole golf course, set amongst hundreds of indigenous trees with free roaming wildlife.

Mountain Biking

Within the estate, there are a number of routes suitable for the whole family. For the more experienced, head into the 300ha of the Nyl river wildlife conservancy that borders the estate for single track and endless riding pleasure 

Tennis

The Mokopane tennis club is across the road from the clubhouse and boast 4 hard courts.

Squash

Two squash courts make up the clubhouse complex. Booking the court is essential and this can be done through the Squash Club.

Bowls

The Mokopane (Potgietersrus) Bowling Club is known as a friendly, social and competitive club and plays host to regular social events. The facilities are well run and maintained.

Hiking and Birding

Thorny Bush Estate has an abundance of wildlife within its 160ha. The untouched bushveld lends its self to spectacular birding opportunities. There is a healthy game population as well: including Nyala, Impala and Bushbuck.

 

Beyond the estate and on its borders is the 300ha conservancy, along the Nyl River, where there is even more to discover.

Clubhouse, Restaurant & Bar

The Clubhouse forms the social nucleus of Thorny Bush Estate. Whether it's grabbing a mid-morning coffee, stopping in for a bite to eat, freshening up after your game or enjoying a cold beer as the sun goes down - the Clubhouse is a place for the whole family. A kids jungle gym is set on lush grass right in front of the clubhouse.
